This gets the award for the weirdest referrer ever to my blog. It seems I’ve been translated into (wait for it…) Arabic:

me-different

And what was the title of that post, you ask? Let me translate it back into English for you: Crazy gay bear cat lady lover . Should I take this as a compliment?

go-getter

My psychological profile as judged by my blog:

ESTP - The Doers
The active and playful type. They are especially attuned to people and things around them and often full of energy, talking, joking and engaging in physical out-door activities.

The Doers are happiest with action-filled work which craves their full attention and focus. They might be very impulsive and more keen on starting something new than following it through. They might have a problem with sitting still or remaining inactive for any period of time.

Great. Now time for my nap.

Jason Statham. I’ve never seen any of his movies but I love my hot British manflesh (don’t be jealous, Daniel).

Beauty and the bleep

I ran across this tonight. Loved it.

Before you accuse me of despoiling a classic children’s show, Spongebob used the exact same schtick in Sailor Mouth. Here’s a sample:

(And yeah, I know, it’s sad that a 41 year old man knows that much about Spongebob Squarepants)

carrots

The Sierra Club has a new “green” cooking quiz: “How Green Is My Cuisine”. I have nothing against helpful hints to help you save energy. That only makes sense. But then I read the questions…the smug meter is off the charts here, folks.

One of the questions:

You want to enjoy a mug of tea while you’re steaming carrots (which you’ll douse with a vinaigrette of olive oil, lemon juice, toasted ground coriander, and rose water and top with chopped fresh mint). If you’re heating just one mug of water for your tea, which of these is the most energy-efficient way to do that?

My answer (which wasn’t one of the choices):

I don’t care. You already bought olive oil, vinegar, rose water, lemons, fresh mint, coriander AND carrots. That long grocery list of items with which you doused those humble carrots takes a hell of a lot of energy to produce too. Why are you worrying about how you are heating up the water for tea?

(h/t Kate)

(for those of you still worried about how you should heat your tea, the answer is a microwave)

Thanks to your generous contributions, caulkischeap.com is secured for another year. My promise to you: more of the same (great writing, unlike caulk, isn’t cheap). And, really, you should thank me. You probably would have wasted your money on an ungrateful homeless person or some needy kitteh in an animal shelter if you hadn’t given it to me.

I am leaving up the donate button (at the bottom of my sidebar) just in case any of you other cheap bitches feel the need to supply me with beer contribute to a good cause. I’m sure it’s tax deductible.
